It’s a Tuesday in San Diego. Y’all know what that means…time for cheap, delicious tacos. You may have spots you always visit, so why not try somewhere new? Here are a few options we recommend.

1. Fat Fish

This spot’s taco prices have a tendency to blow minds. It has a more upscale look than some of the more typical, beloved food spots…maybe it’s the outdoor fire pits. Street tacos are $1 and shrimp tacos only $1.50. We definitely recommend the shrimp; the extra 50 cents is well worth it. Also, take note the chips and salsa are all you can eat and free. So if you find yourself a bit peckish after 2 tacos, feel free to load up on chips!

2. Fred’s

The atmosphere here is prime. Lively music. Colorful lights. Margaritas consistently being served at the bar and brought to tables. Find classic options like chicken and grilled fish, as well as Kalua Pork and Calamari. The vegetarian option is particularly unique for veggie lovers: grilled squash, mushrooms and cabbage with a heart of smoked cauliflower. Yum.

3. Taco Surf Taco Shop

This super casual, unsuspecting spot probably put the word “taco” in their title twice because they’re double the normal goodness. Standard folded tacos. Rolled tacos. You’ll see why this spot on Mission Boulevard has been recognized by spots like USA Today Travel.
