Happy National Doughnut Day! It’s a time when people from all walks of life come together (or, more specifically, come to doughnut shops) to celebrate the beloved treat Homer Simpson and American police are both so famous for eating. Some national chains are even giving out free doughnuts to pay homage to the day.

Krispy Kreme:

At any Krispy Kreme location in the country (or right here in San Diego), you can get one free doughnut, no purchase necessary. That deals hard to beat.

Dunkin’ Donuts:

Each customer can have one free doughnut with the purchase of a drink (as if a hot coffee wouldn’t be an absolute must anyhow!) And remember, this doesn’t apply to just plain ones, you can go for the deluxe jelly filled or decadent topping ones.

Local Favorites:

They may not have the freebies, but on this day it’s also great support local PB favorites like Linda’s Donut Shop and Lucky House Donuts, both on Grand Avenue.
