The only problem with July 4th in San Diego is that there are too many options to choose from. From firework shows and BBQs to parades, here are the best July 4th activities in San Diego.
(July 2nd) Oceanside Independence Day Parade
This weekend before Independence Day, take time to visit San Diego North County’s beautiful Oceanside for their 22nd annual 4th of July parade. Feel proud to be an American, then hit the beach and fireworks later!
Old Town 4th of July (Day Activities)
Gear up for an evening of fireworks in San Diego’s Old Town neighborhood. From 10 am to 4 pm, enjoy a parade, arts & crafts and, of course, amazing food & margaritas!

Ocean Beach Fireworks on July 4
Stay close to Pacific Beach 4th of July; simply cruise down for the OB fireworks show at 9 pm. (We recommend bicycling if at all possible – parking will be very hectic!)
4th of July Parade Julian, CA
Known as the “the best little town parade in America”, the Julian 4th of July Parade will have an amazing variety of floats, animals and bands. Plus, you can get a slice of apple pie and ice cream at one of their famous pie shops after.
July 4th SeaWorld Fireworks
Take the day to enjoy this worldwide famous park. Then, at 10:30 pm, enjoy the impressive SeaWorld July 4 firework show.
