Ready to Start Surfing the Surf?

When you tell someone you’re from San Diego, one of the most common responses is, “Do you surf?” If you do, wonderful. If you don’t, here’s the perfect place to start.

Whether you’re a youngin of 5+ or simply never had the chance to learn, PB Surf Shop offers a variety of ways to learn the sport. For surf lessons, the lessons are group, semi-private, or private. The prices for these range from $75 to $85, depending on the student to instructor ratio.

During the summer months, June through August, this shop offers surf camps for ages 5-17. The full day surf camp runs 9 am to 4 pm, Monday through Friday. You’ll learn how to hit the waves in a safe environment with instructors that are well experienced. Lunch and a rocking T-shirt are part of the deal as well. The camp is $475, but they also offer single day and half-day camps for lower rates and less time commitment.

And hey, if you already know the basics, you simply rent one of their boards. (Or if you’re in the mood to stay on land, bicycles are available as well!)
