Water Sports in PB & La Jolla You Better Have Tried

Lived in PB longer than a year and haven’t tried many water sports? You really should. It’s not just about making the most of beach life; water sports are a great way to get out of your comfort zone and get adrenaline pumping.

Surfing:

When people hear “California”, surfing is an image that comes to mind for many. If you haven’t given it a go, try it at least once to discover what the hype is about. If it’s not your thing? No worries; there are other water sports that are less ride-the-wave, more coast-the-sea.

Stand Up Paddle Boarding:

This is the fastest growing board sport in the entire world. Once you try, it’s easy to see why. Soothing and meditative, yet strengthening and muscle building. Your arms (and surprising amount of core muscles) may be sore after the first time, but it’s totally worth it.

Kayaking:

Get a ridiculous arm workout while taking in views kayaking. The most popular spot to do this is slightly north in the city of La Jolla, where you can see sea lions and explore caves.

Windsurfing:

Challenge yourself and your balance through windsurfing. It takes time to get the hang of, but man, is it worth it.

Wake boarding:

Already well versed in the others? Crank things up with wake boarding. Though potentially intimidating to first timers, don’t let any fear stop you. Once you’re zooming along the water on sturdy legs and letting the wind whip…you’ll be glad you tried.
