The New Restaurant in Pacific Beach You NEED to Try

There are key ingredients to a great day in PB:

  • The beach
  • The food

Here’s an easy way to combine both. Just a short walk from Crystal Pier and the Pacific Ocean, find one of the best restaurants in Pacific Beach: Backyard Kitchen. New to the scene, it quietly moved into the space that was once Moondoggies.

Seasonal Pacific Beach Menu

The chef creates a new menu for each season, the newest menu coming in June. To try some of the dishes featured below, make sure to come to Backyard Kitchen before then!

We were recommended several items on this Pacific Beach restaurant menu, none of which disappointed.

Beet Salad

The beet salad was not your normal iceberg lettuce and tomato dish that leaves you hungry after. Crispy roasted almonds, thick hunks of mozzarella and beautifully colored beets were not only gorgeous…they were ridiculously delicious. (Honestly, I could do with another one right meow.)

Mushroom Garlic Flatbread

Favorite aspects of the mushroom, garlic flatbread included:

  • Mouth-watering texture
  • A large size

This flatbread is Texas status big – great for sharing with many people OR splitting between 2 and pairing with one of Backyard’s salads.

Bison Burgers for Meat Lovers

You meat eaters will love the bison burger. Hearty and thick, it’s packed with flavor and gets a major thumbs up.

$11 Burger Deal Throughout the Week

Speaking of which, Backyard Kitchen offers a deal throughout the week – get their original burger (so not, alas, the bison) with a drink and fries for just $11.

Remember, that salad and flatbread will be disappearing off the Backyard Kitchen menu soon. And as for what’s to come, only this San Diego chef knows!
