Happy April Fool’s Day, a holiday that goes back to 1700 – maybe even 1582 – according the History Channel.
You may be preparing to keep with the long-standing tradition by pranking friends. Maybe substituting your roommate’s favorite craft beer with Miller Lite? Ordering them a virgin margarita at Cabo Cantina instead of a tequila-loaded one?

1957: “Record High Spaghetti Crop”
BBC reported that Swiss farmers had a record high spaghetti crop. It featured images of the farmers gathering noodles, yes noodles, from trees. Much of the audience was duped.
1992: Richard Nixon Ran for President…again.
Using the slogan “I never did anything wrong, and I won’t do it again”, a comedian & impersonator launched his 1992 Nixon campaign on April Fool’s Day.
1996: Taco Bell Buys the Liberty Bell
Chalupa serving Taco Bell announced it would be purchasing Philadelphia’s Liberty Bell and renaming it the Taco Liberty Bell. Many angered people, like history lovers and city natives, hopefully had some relief when it turned out to be a prank!
In 1998: The Left-Handed Whopper
Anyone else remember this one? Burger King premiered the “Left-Handed Whopper” in USA Today. Many visitors asked for the sandwich, which apparently had been rotated 180 degrees…in a circle.
2015: Netflix unleashed its “Binge Responsibly” campaign
If a person Netflixed more than 2 episodes of a show in a row, a PSA announcement would warn to “Binge Responsibly” and to do something like take a shower or call their mom.
