Only a few months left of 2016. Here’s what to work into the last of this beautiful year.
Hit Balboa Park for its 100th Year Centennial
Balboa Park has officially turned 100. Here are some ways to celebrate this landmark’s birthday.
Visit a museum, such as the :
- The San Diego Museum of Art
- San Diego Air & Space Museum
- San Diego Hall of Champions
- Museum of Man (Currently featuring a cannibalism exhibit that is to die for.)
Bring a picnic and lounge with it on the grass. Make sure to include something sweet as a birthday treat.
If you’re able to visit Balboa Park on a Sunday, head to the International houses cultural programs between 12 pm and 4 pm. Each house takes turns throughout the year to take this time, on Sundays, to celebrate a culture with food, dances and more.
After years of closure, you can finally climb the famous tower.
Dine at a New Restaurant
Humans are creatures of habit. It’s why we tend to pick up the same items from the grocery store. Visit venues we already know. Change things up with a new restaurant in the Pacific Beach + nearby areas here at our blog:

Do a San Diego Hike You’ve Liked on Instagram
There are many great San Diego hikes; take a quick break from Netflix and try a new one this year! Such as :
- Potato Chip Rock
- Cowles Mountain
- Torrey Pines (Several trails to choose from)
Attend At Least One Live Music Event
In Pacific Beach & nearby areas, there’s a plethora of live music – however, perhaps you feel there’s little chance to actually go enjoy it. Try and hit up, even just once this year:
- 710 Beach Club
- Beaumont’s in Bird Rock
- Events at nearby venues in La Jolla, like the La Jolla Symphony & Chorus
