- Everyone still stops and stares when the sun does its set each day
Now, onto brand new updates for Pacific Beach 2017 :
What is to Replace Joe’s Crab Shack
Closed since September 21st, 2015, what was once Joe’s Crab Shack (next to PB Shore Club and directly in front of the ocean boardwalk), is finally being renovated. The Crab Shack had opted to move on after its 15 year lease ended, and locals have been interested what will be replacing the staple ever since.
It is said that this spot – 4325 Ocean Blvd – will be a collaboration by the Verant Group and Todd Brown, the owners of Bub’s Dive Bar and partner of Good Times Design. If they are indeed joining forces to create an entirely new bar and restaurant concept…we can’t wait to see it happen.
New Venue in Crown Point
In other restaurant news, there may be a new Crown Point Eatery. At 3453 Ingraham Street, what was once Jade Dragon Yoga Shala, may be a new restaurant – brought to you by The Patio Group of Restaurants. So, if you’re already a fan of spots like The Patio on Lamont – get real excited for this update.
Work Towards Public Transport in Pacific Beach + San Diego Coastal Areas
If you’ve wanted better and more accessible public transport in the PB area, get excited about updates for the Mid-Coast Trolley project. It will extend a trolley line from Old Town all the way up and through the University City community and UC San Diego. This won’t be completed by Spring 2017, alas, but efforts are in place to get closer to finishing the project.
