Java Earth: Down to Earth

Whether you’re looking for a place to work or catch up with friends over coffee, Java Earth is a great cafe to check out. This cozy spot located in North PB is near the beach yet less crowded than more well known cafes in the area.

This venue prides itself on its organic ingredients and purchasing its coffee from local roasters, so you can sip your coffee knowing this place cares about its carbon footprint. Some of their specialty drinks include the Marshmallow Mocha, Mint Mocha and, during the holiday season, Pumpkin Spice Latte. (My personal favorite? Their loose leaf Chai tea. Simply add a pump or 2 of Simple Syrup and a splash of milk.)

There are no “Should I have eaten that?” guilty feelings after eating here; the food is too wholesome (yet delicious)! Some items on the menu include the Veggie Hummus Wrap, Spicy Turkey Chipotle sandwich and Avocado Toast. The breakfast menu has expanded greatly, so there are plenty of options there as well.

**Major perk #1 of coming here to do work on a laptop is the WiFi. It’s fast and doesn’t give you the spinning wheel of death each time you try and check a new e-mail. Major perk #2, there are a plethora of outlets located around the cafe to charge your computer.**

Address: 4978 Cass Street, San Diego, CA 92109

P.S. Watch out for some mad music. This place features Pandora stations such as the classic musical Grease. (And yes, the baristas and cafe attenders may burst into song in order to accompany John Travolta!)
