It’s Monday. Need Coffee? 3 Cass Street Coffee houses You Need to Try

After an active weekend, an extra jolt of caffeine Mondays can be crucial. You don’t want just any cup of joe; you want a truly well made brew that will start your week off right. Here are 3 shops you probably haven’t tried, but should.

Perky Beans Coffeehouse

Ron Diaz started serving his famous frozen hot chocolate drinks from his coffee truck. The truck, which is still popular and running today, led to this Cass Street cafe location. The most ordered beverages tend to be their lattes and iced mochas. (At the indoor counter, you can personalize your order with spices like nutmeg and cinnamon. I personally found cinnamon on the latte to be heart-warming, like early Christmas in a cup!) Their coffee is so good, Ron has a high demand for catering, especially for local universities and businesses. For any catering inquiries of your own, simply reach out to (858) 617-9477.

99 Cups

This new spot, only open since September 2014, is nestled on Cass Street as well, just a few blocks from Garnet Avenue. It’s close enough to walk from the main street, yet lacks the crazy crowds and more difficult parking. If you’d rather not take your coffee to go, they have window-facing bar stools inside and shaded outdoor seating.

Cafe 976

Okay, this spot may be well-visited already but…come on, it’s Cafe 976 Pacific Beach! This house style cafe with garden, patio and indoor seating (plus unique Pandora stations every time) is simply too classic not too include.
