San Diego’s Pacific Beach has an annual holiday celebration that’s great for all ages.

It combines 2 events into one:

• The Santa Run 5K
• The PB Holiday Parade (hosted by Discover PB)

Typically held the second Saturday of December, here’s what to get pumped for in each event.

About the Santa Run 5K in Pacific Beach

This holiday run is like no other. For one thing, it’s thousands of Santas mobbing the streets of PB.

You can take part in either :

• The Santa Run 5K
• The 1 mile waves
  • These are competitive grouped miles in a variety of categories, like:
    • Men’s competitive mile
    • Women’s competitive mile
    • Kids’ mile
    • And yes…Dogs’ mile.

The 5K happens at 10 am before the parade. The 1 mile wave times at their own respective time.

What to Expect in the PB Holiday Parade

The holiday parade in Pacific Beach is an afternoon event that has a unique theme each year.

Where: The parade will be on Garnet. Starts at Haines and goes down to Bayard.

Typically at 1 pm after the Santa Run. 

Expect a variety of groups:

• Local schools
• Classic cars
• Bands and music
• A variety of entertainment
• Local professionals

And, at the end of course, Santa Clause.
