Events Worth Traveling Outside PB for this Weekend (June 5 – 7)

Between the beach, bars and (let’s be real) booze, it’s easy to get trapped inside the Pacific Beach bubble. However, there are great activities happening near PB that are worth jumping in the car for. This weekend alone there are some pretty great shenanigans going on.

Art Around Adams

This Saturday, June 6th, check out this festival celebrating its 12th year in a row. With hundreds of performers, 2 miles of enticing booths (from delicious food to locally made art) and more. It’s going on from 12 – 8 pm, so there’s plenty of time to stop by, even if for only an hour or two.

The Grunion Run

Have you heard of the grunions? They’re a type of fish that come to spawn on the shores of Southern California on select days from March to September. This Friday, June 5th, from 10:30 pm – 12:30 am, head to Birch Aquarium for the full experience. You’ll be a part of the grabbing-fish-at-dark-madness (yes, you pick them up) that is the Grunion run, as well as learning about the phenomenon from resident scientists.

San Diego County Fair

It’s that time of year again. Deep fried Oreos. Chocolate covered bacon. The county fair is excited to continue beloved heart-dangerous traditions and bring in new activities and concerts. This Friday, June 5, is the kick off for the summer season!
