Cabo Cantina: The Experience without even Crossing the Border

If you turn 21 in San Diego, there’s a very high chance you’ve been at Cabo Cantina within 48 hours of your birthday. Not an exact science, but it’s definitely a tradition. Although it’s known for it’s colorful vibe and all-you-can eat tacos for only $5 on Taco Tuesdays, there’s something even grander that gets people in… their happy hour!

Every day, all 7 days of the week, they host happy hour from 4 – 8 pm and resume it again from 10 pm until close (2 am). The deal? 2 for the price of 1. Whether you’re ordering a cranberry vodka or their fanciest margarita, the deal still applies.

The margaritas, happy hour special or not, are something to investigate. They have a countless number of options, a few being classic strawberry, peach and pomegranate!

It is important to note that the age of this crowd is a young one. Many of the visitors are those of who have just hit legal drinking age and don’t go much higher than 30. If you’re looking for a laid back scene to sip a margarita and relax to the sounds of the ocean, this probably won’t be the place. If you’re ready for more excitement, high energy, and some good stories, this is definitely more geared towards you!

Local knowledge: Within the past 2 years, Michael Bezarra, owner of Cabo Cantina, has acquired the watering holes of long time local favorite RT’s Longboard (now PB Cantina) and beachfront tradition, Green Flash (now Baja Beach Cafe).
